Our Coaches
While having played at a high level, our coaches are passionate about developing the athlete both spiritually and physically.
Luke Sawyer
Luke Sawyer played his high school baseball at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Maryland, where he was part of one of the nation’s top programs. During his junior season, the team finished a perfect 33-0 and held the No. 1 national high school ranking for a portion of the year. He was also recognized as an Under Armour Preseason All-American.
After high school, Luke continued his playing career at Anderson University (SC) before finishing at Southern Wesleyan University (SC). A four-year collegiate player, he contributed as both a catcher and pitcher, serving as his team’s closer during his junior and senior seasons. As a junior, he posted a 1.53 ERA while filling a key late-inning role.
Following his playing career, Luke transitioned into coaching, serving at Denver Christian High School, Colorado Christian University, and St. Petersburg College. His passion for developing young athletes eventually led him to found Freedom Baseball, where he is committed to helping players grow not only in their skills on the field but also in their character, leadership, and faith.
